- The weather was great, mid valley was 95's but at the coast mid 60's. Started fishing at about 7AM and off the ocean by noon. We hit between 40 and 50 salmon, lots of "long-line" releases, lots of native fish that had to go back, but we managed 14 beautiful keepers for five rods, one short of a full limit for 5 people. Average size was about 8 lbs but quite a few in the 12-15 lb range, really beautiful fish.
